ATTENTION: This hike is NOT for first-timer hikers, beginner hikers, moderate/intermediate hikers, dogs, and children/kids. This special intense hike differs vastly from all our other hikes in the following manner:
- We have great expectations from each attending hiker which must be in an advanced level of hiking stamina and speed.
- We will not wait for hikers who fall behind.
- We will be moving at a fast pace as compared to other hikes.
- Attending hikers must be in prime health physical condition.
- All hikers are expected to know the hiking area well enough to find their way back on their own should they fall behind or find that they cannot handle the intensity.
- We will be going up many steep uphills. Some uphills may require the hiker to grab on to surrounding terrain to go up.
- We will be going down a few steep down hills which may have some slippery loose gravel.
- We will designated jog/run sections of trails.
- Trail route will be designated the day of the hike.
- There will be limited timed stops.
- Hikers must have previously completed a Level 7 hike with the group.
- No walkie talkies to be used.
- This is hike is as intense and must only be attempted by hikers with great hiking experience.

**THIS IS AN INTENSE HIKE AND NOT RECOMMENDED FOR REGULAR HIKERS**
EQUIPMENT/WATER CHECK: 10 Mins before start time.
START TIME FROM MEETING POINT PEAK: 3:00pm
(We’ll leave promptly so be there before to get your gear and water checked.)
MEETING POINT PEAK: Beacon Hill
WALK-THROUGH: Attendees are expected to be at the meeting point peak prior to the designated meeting time. Make sure to allocate time to get to the meeting point peak before the designated time on your own as we will not be meeting at any usual meeting points and we’ll be doing all other equipment checks . The hike will promptly begin from the meeting point peak. The rest of the trail will be announced point-to-point by the lead and will designate points on the map.
DISTANCE: Undetermined, based on team’s ability.
DURATION: 3 Hours (Approx.)
REQUIREMENTS: WATER. 3 Liters of water OR about at least six 20oz bottles of water. Shoes with good grip, hiking shoes/boots preferred. Bring small snacks. Map of Griffith Park (See Below). You will need to be familiar with Griffith Park. Attendees who fail to have any of the the mentioned items will be asked to turn back.
RECOMMENDED: If you plan on bringing a flashlight, please bring a low beam Red, Green, or Blue (LED) light. Dress warmly/appropriately as it can be quite chilly at night. We recommend dressing in easily removable layers of clothes. Hiking sticks/poles help you go up hill and keep you balanced when going downhill. Gloves when needing to hold on to different terrain.
MAP: A Map of Griffith Park can be obtained at the Griffith Park Visitor Center located on the east end of Griffith Park by the Ranger Station. The linked map is the same map, but it’s best to have the physical map as it will assist in finding places on during the hike.
