TRAIL PARKING: From the meeting point, we’ll drive to the trail head with one additional stop along the way where we can consolidate cars. The parking lot is a bit small, so we’ll try to make sure we take the least number of cars there. We suggest carpooling to the meeting point if you can.
HIKE WALKTHROUGH: From the meeting point area, we’ll drive to a designated area along Glendora Mountain Road and park in the area. From the trail head, at about 2,340 feet elevation, we’ll go on the Glendora Ridge Motorway trail and experience some rolling hills for the first 3 miles. Miles 1.5 to 2.15 will give us a nice gain of 111 feet and experience some rolling hills after that to mile 3. Along the way we’ll have views of the lower valley and city areas as we continue along the saddle trail. At mile 3, we’ll start to descend about 400 ft down to mile 4. As we head down, you’ll start to see the a vast area of the lower cities and of course the Garcia Cross area. We’ll get there and take our break. Upon return we’ll gain about 500 feet until we get back up and out on the same trail back.
REQUIRED: 2 to 3 Liters of water, a snack or two, sports/hiking shoes with grip.
RECOMMENDED: sunscreen, sun glasses, a hat/visor, hiking poles, and flashlight. Wearing breathable layers is highly recommended as the trail may get warm,
DOG FRIENDLY?: Yes, but dog must have prior experience. All dogs must be on a leash. Should be friendly with other dogs and hikers. You must pick up after your pet.
HOW DO I PARTICIPATE WITH THE GROUP ON THIS HIKE?
1. Read the Hike’s Details we link at the very top of this page.
2. Make sure that the Hike Level accommodates your hiking experience.
3. If, and only if it suits you, then RSVP for this event and show up the day of the hike with all necessary gear and water (we mention everything you need on the details page for this hike).
MY FRIEND SAID I CAN DO THIS HIKE, I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO IT, RIGHT?
We take your safety quite seriously, and would not like for you to attend a hike you’re not ready for. You know your body and hiking experience better than your friends. Whether you are a first-timer or an experienced hiker, please read our hike details page as the hike may not suit your experience level. We have a better experience if every hike has hikers of the intended level.
