HIKE WALKTHROUGH: This hike begins with a short but moderately steep incline to warm up and then some rolling hills.  After the 1/2 way point, we will have some moderate inclines until we reach the infamous “switchbacks” which entails a moderately steep/rocky incline for about .5 miles which we will take at a very slow/moderate pace.  After another short break, we will head down the fire road to where our vehicles are parked.

PARKING and FACILITIES:  There are public bathrooms at our 1/2 way point and cell phone reception.  Because there is always the danger of cars being vandalized, please do not leave any valuables in view in your vehicle.

REQUIRED: Water, at least one liter of water or two 16/20oz bottles.

RECOMMENDED: Hiking pokes, a hat, a light snack and comfortable shoes (no open-toed shoes or sandles)

DOG-FRIENDLY?:  Yes, but your pet must be kept on a leash. You must clean up after your pet and carry water and a container for it drink from.

MY FRIEND SAID I CAN DO THIS HIKE, I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO IT, RIGHT?
We take your safety quite seriously, and would not like for you to attend a hike you’re not ready for.  You know your body and hiking experience better than your friends. Whether you are a first-timer or an experienced hiker, please read our hike details page as the hike may not suit your experience level. We have a better experience if every hike has hikers of the intended level.
